The Polk County Fraternal Order of Police, Inc. has long recognized the supreme sacrifice that many law enforcement officers make for their community. Lodge 46, nearly since its inception, desired to build a lasting and fitting tribute to those local officers who had died in the line of duty. As a result of money raised by the Polk County Fraternal Order of Police, the Polk County Police Memorial was built in Bicentennial Park on the grounds of the Lakeland Center in 1990. The memorial recognizes each officer that has died in Polk County with a black granite marker inscribed with the officer’s name, department and date of death. The membership of Lodge 46 can think of no better tribute to our fallen brothers.

An expansion project was recently completed on the Polk County Law Enforcement Officer Memorial, adding a second tier of markers.  The Polk County Law Enforcement Memorial Fund, Inc., a charitable non-profit 501(c) 3 organization is raising funds for the renovation, care and maintenance of the memorial.  Information on donating to the Memorial fund by be obtained by writing to: PCLEMF, Inc., P.O.
